This was the concept used in amv.
Basically, I want to say that due to the isolation of the protagonist Tatsuhiro Sato (Neet and Hikikomori) of the people, there remained only to dream. Inventing, imagining things, which he simply could not accomplish in real life. Something to do away with all the loneliness of being rejected and humiliated in his life. Imagine how life would with fun, inventing all points (including sleeping even have special powers). Being that everything is just a result of your dreams.
