  • Comments: After I became wholly obsessed with Hayao Miyazaki's film 'Spirited Away,' I wanted to honor the film in some way, and that form came to me one night when listening to Vanessa Carlton's song "Ordinary Day."

    While the song talked about ordinary occurences, I found several parallels that haunted me during the September and October months, as I struggled to cut the music video and finish my animation portfolio.

    While the file is compressed, I feel it makes some wonderful isues out of timing. Chihiro's journey has been sidelined as the music video focuses moreso on herself and Haku.

    I have shown this video to many of my friends, and some tell me that they can never hear the song "Ordinary Day" without thinking of the film. Someone even commented "This song was made for the film."
