This AMV needed a very long time to make. It was mainly due to Windows Movie Maker, which gave me a lot of frustration with continuously having itself (and sometimes my computer as well) frozen down.
I watched Spiral not long after I finished my PoT AMV, and I immediately got the idea of making a character AMV about Ayumu. He's the type who needs a lot more confidence in him - while watching his performance in Spiral I always had in my mind: "You've got to believe in yourself!" By the way, this was the refrain of a song which I knew from an old American cartoon series, Jem. So I thought, such a song could be perfect for Ayumu. Unfortunately, this song was too short for an AMV, therefore I began to search for a similar one. Then I accidentally came across of the theme of Tails from Sonic "Believe in Myself". The moment I heard it I knew it's a direct hit for Ayumu and his feelings for his brother, Kiyotaka! So I had the song and the concept... Which I didn't have, was a good editor :( So I started to struggle with WMM, plus I again had to cut out the subtitled scenes which I dislike. After a couple of weeks I had the material filled in WMM, and started the actual work. And I was again and again irritated by the program, not only because it froze constantly, but several times without saving my previously done work. :((( So I lost my interest in making the AMV several times during the way.
In the meantime I got Ulead Video Studio, but I didn't want to lose my hard work I have done and begin the whole thing again, so I remained by WMM for finishing this project. It gave me a hard time again at the end, but finally it was ready!
So this AMV focuses on Ayumu, how he struggles with himself and the memories of his genius brother, and how he manages to gain some confidence with the help of loving and caring people.
This time I tried to use a bit of the effects WMM provided me - although not a lot of them, and they are quite simple.
Meanwhile I found a fitting clip for my logo, that I decided to be "Moon Water" from the meaning of my nickname. I am far away to designate it a studio, but I will use this logo from now on. The clip is from Aquarian Age the Movie.
As I worked a huge amount with it I like it more than my previous AMV. I made an effort to sync the scenes with the lyrics and on the whole I am quite satisfied with the outcome. I know there are mistakes, probably bigger ones, too. Still, I like this AMV better than that of PoT.
Here are the Lyrics:
"Believe in Myself"
When all alone in my chair
I just go about wishing
wanna be stong really wanna be trusted ohh
When all alone in my bed
I just go about yearning
wanna be cool
I also wanna be like him!
But that's not something I can do so easily,
this is not simply my way,
my own style
Gotta get a hold of my life!
I wanna fly high,
so I can reach the highest of all the heavens
Somebody will be waiting for me,
so I gotta fly higher!
When all alone in my sleep
I just go about dreaming
Ii see myself there having the same adventure.
If I just follow you
I will never see the light
now's the time to find my way
through this life
trying so hard to be strong!
I gotta keep going
everything is a brand new challenge for me
and I will believe,
believe in myself, this is the only way for me!
Many friends help me out,
in return I help them
certain things I can do,
and there are things that only I can do.
No one's alone!
I wanna fly high,
so I can reach the highest of all the heavens
Somebody will be waiting for me,
so I gotta fly higher!
