Okay so many people said it shouldn't be done...others said it couldn't be done, A "Death Note" music video to Fall Out Boy ?! Unheard of ! Well leave it to ol' Logan Jack Markov to silence the nay-sayers.
The point of this video is a Death Note retrospective. We start off in the 1st Episode where Light is killing everyone and finally we go into the song: "Am I more than you bargined for yet ?". L reveals himself to Light (hence L is more than Light bargined for as well as Light being in trouble with the law) The "Notch in your bedpost" refer's to Misa's status as nothing but something for Light to use and "Line in a song" refers to L's soon to be status of just another name in the Death Note. The "Drop a Heart and Break a name" part refers to Misa laying her heart before Light, HOWEVER Misa's ability to lay herself before Light is reflective of Misa being the cause of Death for Jealous, hence Jealous was "sleeping for the wrong team".
"We're goin' down, down", refers to the break down soon to come of everyone's actions and the conflicts thereof. Jealous is killed by Misa, L and Light are fighting, it's conflict-conflict, conflict because of their actions. "Number one with a bullet", is shown that Light is now The Law's number one with a bullet. The second time the chours is sang we see Light passing his law upon the soon to be rapist, hence "They're going down." However in the next part L kicks Light in the face which reveals that The Law still has the upper hand and Light is the one going down.
"Number one with a bullet" this time refers to Light and Misa's relationship, Misa is now Light's "number one with a bullet" because he can use her to get the upper hand. The "loaded gun complex" refers to Misa's Death God Eyes which Light is waiting to cock and pull the trigger on.
This scene is piggybacked by showing how Light and Misa came to be, and we realize that Light still has the upper hand.
"Is this more than you bargined for yet ?" refers to Misa (now that she has accepted Light) is now imprisoned by L and about to interrogated, but don't Mind L, he's been watching them both, but Misa is wishing to be the "friction" in Light's jeans HENCE why he's going through with being interrogated. "Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be here" refers to Light's current position WANTING to be God but having to get through L to do it. Light WANTS to be in a God position but it's messed up that he has to do THIS WAY.
When we come to the "drop a hear and break a name" part. L passes by Light, as if nothing is wrong, the heart that's being dropped is Light's and the name that's being broken is again, Light's. Light is about to call Misa to find out L's real name...only to discover...he can't. His dialing and the lyrics foretell that he's again "Sleeping for the wrong team", going against himself.
"We're going' down, down" reveals Light and L falling on their asses because of this insane mess that they're both in, but when L goes down he STILL has the upper hand on Light (Thanks to Misa). AND YET, Misa still wants to be Light's "Number One with a bullet". And next we see Matt getting shot up (which basically fortell's Misa's fate of soon becoming the sexiest street pizza ever n_n;; )
The next time we hear "we're goin' down, down" is showing all the people Light has passed judgement on they're going down, and YET STILL, Misa wants to be Light's number one with a bullet, EVEN after we just showed you how successful Light was prior to meeting Misa.
The "Loaded Gun complex" has FINALLY been pulled on L, when he's SCARED OUT OF HIS WITS to discover that Death Gods are REAL ! BUT, we finally cut to Light and Misa...seperate from each other and they're still goin' down, in a metaphorical sense, they haven't gone down yet, but this is forshadowing their soon declining partnership and at this point in time NO ONE is Number One with a bullet. BUT Misa's "Loaded Gun Complex" (her obsession with Light) has been cocked and pulled.
NOW we return to the beginning and we get an over view of Light's success (after witnessing Light's soon coming failure in Misa). So by the end of the video we see the futility of Light's partnership with Misa and his ability to go against the Law and the outcome there of, HOWEVER we end the video with Light looking back "reflectively" almost at his upcoming Godhood, however we just seen that this dream isn't with in his reach and he's goin' down.
