ef ... what to say about this.
To tell you the truth, I did not like ef that much, well to be more precise, I didn't care for half of the show. The other relationship that takes place in it that is.
Anyways, a bit of background -
I've been listening to Sara Bareilles' album for some time now, and I just loved the last track of the album 'Gravity' (seems familiar ey?). At the time, I had not seen ef, nor knew much about it except for the gorgeous animation I've come across on other people's videos and such. But for some reason, it just seemed to be the right show for me to use this song with, kinda pulled me in. I started watching ef awhile back, but after getting past the nice character animation and design, it took me several times (and rewatches) to get past just the first 3 episodes. Something about its pacing and seemingly lack of originality, aside from its presentation, put me off. However, I decided to push through and keep watching, if only for Chihiro's story.
Thank god that I did.
The last few episodes of the show solidified the show and the concept for this video. If you have seen ef, I encourage you to take a look at the lyrics of this song and see just how perfect it is for Chihiro. Needless to say, I was absolutely ecstatic once it all came together.
The idea for this video is to make it look as 'natural' as possible. Meaning, to mimic the show, and Chihiro's character as much as possible. This means almost all straight cuts (which can and are meant to be jarring, just like the show), and a progressive yet sometimes wild order of presentation.
So, though I do not expect most people to follow this, I promise you that if you do come around to watching ef, that it will be worth it.
