  This was the fourth video that I made. I really liked the way my second video "Superbeast" had turned out. The final video was exactly what I envisioned in my head when I heard the song. I then set out to make my third video, a video about Asuka and Shinji to the song Right Now by SR71. Unfourtanetaly, I didn't like the way that video ended up. Then I got the idea for this video. It was a spring of te moment thing. I was listening to this song on cd while I was at my job. I'm a lifeguard at the Sheraton Hotel in Syracuse NY, and I listen to music the entire time. I've always liked this song and had it on CD. I'd heard this song dozens of times, and the video idea just hit me that one time (A note to all AMV'ers, don't look for the songs, let the songs find you)
  When I started the video, I only had ideas for parts of the song, but as I captured scenes, I listened to the song in my headphones, and the rest kinda filled itself in. The ideas for the layering came in as I edited the footage. I noticed that there where times that the video lagged, what was going on was just boring, or sometimes just seemed like nonsense. The one thing I did want to do with this video was show long scenes, but to split them up throughout the video. I did that very well in this video, connecting events together.

  The final product changed several times before i finnaly finished it in April 2002. This version of the video was meant for Otakon 2002, but I missed the deadline and it never got showed. I meant to one day go back and eliminate the 15sec pauses at the beginning and end of the video. However, my apartment was broken into and all of my capture backups where stolen. So this became the final version, though I may redo the video one day with dvd captures. The quote at the beginning of the video is from one of my favorite comics, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of the cureent hit show Invader Zim (Very cool stuff, look it up sometime). I really like this quote and it fitted shinji's situation, so I put it in.
  So now, afteran entire year of waiting to get it online, here it is, what I view as my best video to date, Blink 182 - Shinji's Song.
