This video really took alot out of me. I spent 8 to 10 hours e day for an entire month working on this video, desperatly trying to get it done in time for the Anime Boston 2008 AMV Contest deadline.
When I set out to make this video, I wanted to make something that was more than just a bunch of different anime scenes put to music. I wanted to tell a story, and to really make my audience feel something deep down when they watched it, and hopefully be moved to tears.
Basically the plotline is that Rei, after getting out of the hospital, realizes that she feels something for Shinji. However, soon after that, she witnesses something that completely devastates her, and decides that this feeling not something she wants to live with...
It was very exausting working on this video, because I had to rotoscope and mask out almost every single clip in the AMV. I also had to learn Blender 3D from scratch in order to create some of the backgrounds for my AMV. I also learned alot about Particle Generaters while working on this AMV, since I added snow into most of the scennes.
I plan to make some video tutorials showing how I pulled off every effect in my AMV, so that aspiring AMV Editors will be able to put these methods I've learned through trial and error to good use.
