Phantom of Inferno has been my favorite anime for quite some time (the DVD version anyway.)

I've already done a Phantom of Inferno music video, but I really wasn't happy with the end result. Then I saw Bebop and heard this song. A few lyrics stuck with me and one day while watching Elen's end of Phantom of Inferno for the like the 10th time, I had a vision.

The song "Blue" by Yoko Kanno fits Elen's personality and life almost to the word. There was some symbolism in Phantom saying that living life is like a dream - a long dream. Elen has had a tough life, so it's really more of a nightmare if you ask me. But that is until Reiji came into the picture. In my opinion he saved Elen from so many things: Scythe, death, even her own being. Then of course he marries her too. Elen's one lucky girl.

Then there was the ending, which I have highlighted in the end of the video. During the credits I was just sitting there going: "wow..." No other series that I have ever watched has ever been able to reproduce that feeling I got. And the rest is history...

So now I would like to share the story with others, even though it will never be as good as the real thing, I liked how this one turned out. There are certain styles that people may not like in this video, such as text and subtitles, and the static image-type story, but I believe that's what Phantom of Inferno is all about: difference from mainstream anime. They let the pictures and voice actors tell the story, not the digital effects or camera movements.

Though with that said, I think this is more for the fans who have seen it all the way through already. For nostalgic purposes if you will.

So I hope all of you enjoy this music video. I sure had the greatest time making it.
