  Of the many Evangelion music videos set to Linkin Park's "In The End", I've seen 6, and I noticed that they tended to overwhelmingly ignore Rei, even though she tried just as hard and got just as far as everyone else, and felt just as much despair. Seeking to correct this imbalance, I put my Phil Collins video on hold (indefinitely) and started work on this vid, which is my second Eva video to be completed. I planned most parts out before actually starting work. I did the first two thirds in two days, and took several weeks for the remaining third. Since then I've thrown it in the crapper and completely rebuilt it from scratch using DVD footage.
  
  I put a lot of emotion into this video, and I tried to take the lyrics in their original (rather than literal) context; i.e., for the line "you kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart", I show Rei trying to contain her emotions and failing, rather than, say, the Tree of Life going inside Lillith and then Lillith literally falling apart at the movie's end (like Abaddon), or just using footage from the original Linkin Park video (like Tommyrude). I also don't think those guys were talking about a real pendulum, but rather a figurative one, so I didn't use the "Pendulum Clip" where Abaddon and TommyRude did. Basically, I did lyric matches subtly and where appropriate, not just wherever and however I could. I think you get the idea.
  
  Okay, so using Linkin Park isn't 100% original. But using them for a Rei tribute? Now there's something that hadn't been done.
