Using Video Game Footage - Part 2Examples of Ripping/Converting/Capturing the Videos
PlayStation - Visions of Escaflowne I was at Anime Central 2K browsing the dealer’s room when I saw the Escaflowne PSX game. I did not even know it existed, and saw that it was relatively cheap. I decided to get it, since it was in a mini box-set type format. It came in a nice cardboard box, with a deck of tarot cards, an instruction manual, and a single CD jewel case. Honestly, the first thing I did when I got home was play with the game, not put it in the computer, but that did not last long. The game play is nothing to speak of… but the cut scenes were very cool. I installed PSmplay from Segu’s site, and downloaded the aspi32.exe from the main page also, since my
installation of Windows 2000 did not include the ASPI file. If that ASPI driver does not work for you, you
might have to contact your computer manufacturer to find one that works, or search on the Internet. If you
have a CD-R/W or CD-R, more than likely you will have this driver, as I did when I installed the burner in
my computer. First thing was to start up the application. It looks kind of simple, and slow at first. Second is to have the program "Analyze" the CD-ROM. Click START and it should begin finding all the different media types that is supported on the CD-ROM. Strangely when I ran it, it gave me a “Failed in Reading” error before finishing. It worked perfectly except for this, so I assume it was simply a quirk in the way the discs are made. Save the results of course. We are going to need this to find the videos. Just in case you’re not sure, you should click the Exit button afterwards.
I know it seems a bit redundant, but now we have to open that analyze file that we just made.
