TVTropes 'Fan Vid' entry (seemingly focuses on AMVs mostly)

I was randomly browsing around TVTropes.org yesterday, when I happened upon this article:

I was kind of surprised this hasn't been posted before, especially considering the site's referencing in other threads. Aside from actually featuring Skittles as the example, it seems to be overflowing with AMV- and MAD-based commonalities.

It's unfortunate, it's sad, but it's true from an outside perspective. Outward analysis of this hobby suffers a mind-blank akin to an analysis of modern literature that doesn't separate published authors from fanfic writers.

Comeon people, the article isn't THAT bad. Not as good as most other TVTropes articles but, eh, I don't think it's completely misrepresenting AMVs.

Speaking of TvTropes, Zarxrax's The Fanservice Video: Bouncing Back For More is mentioned as an example in Gainaxing. I thought it was quite interesting to run into an AMV while clicking through TvTropes links.

Though I bet that doing that large list was even more time-consuming that any of the videos that I made
