Banner help

Hello,

When ever i try and make a banner for the forum, the image i put in always blurs when i set it to the image size that the forum asks for.
I use Gimp 2.0 and photoshop elements and they both do this.

Am i supost to make the image in a large size then, resize it to the size limit?.

Please help.

Are you scaling a large image down to fit in the frame? Making a big project and scaling it down won't help any. Are you saving it as low quality jpg?

nope, i save it in 100 % high quality.

It is not when i save it when i resize the image of the anime character that im doing, it automaticlly blurs, its not as cystal clear has the other ones on the fourm.

If you resize something really big (In this case your anime character) to really small, it'll probably get a little blurry.

Here's a site with a bunch of GIMP tutorials, tips/tricks, plug-ins and the such. I seen something about resizing/cropping in there somewhere, probably second or third page.

kk thanks, i now know how to do it in PSE, but i will check the page to see how to do it in gimp.
