Need Help for an paper on Kevin Caldwell !

Hello everybody !

I'm introducing myself : Kaiser Panda, aka KP, french AMV maker for 1.5 year now, & member of AMV France association (containing also some people like Chambeyc, Dark Krystal, Atvaark, Nostromo or Tyler).


I'm coming to you today to Appeal To Witness.




Indeed, with some others members, we are establishing an amateur webzine based on AMVs (it will be bilingual French/English). Among several topics will be cover the History Of AMV. My first paper (written with Otaku9999) will be on Kevin Caldwell, because of his great contribution to AMV world. In this way, I appeal to witness for :

- People who would know him in his "glorious age", IRL or on the web
- People who would know other people who would know him, to indicate me how to join these guys
- All People who could give me some information on him not gaven on his a-m-v.org profile.

Of course, the aim isn't to talk in my paper about his private life. Just about the context of his begining, his felt face to video-clip, his influences, etc.

By the time I entered the community in the late nineties he was already kind of a dick about AMVs. I think I met him at Otakon and didn't enjoy the experience.

Of course, I was also, er, 15 or 16 and ZOMG AMVS ARE LIKE GREATEST EVAR, so maybe I just deserved it.

This is why I qualified what I said. Considering my job, I know full well how annoying teenagers can be, so I can't guarantee that the people he was a douche to, myself included, might have all deserved it for some reason.

I actually have only heard the first part of your post. I was still pretty new to the ML when he left (i.e. I barely saw his posts), but he seemed like a nice guy. The few people I know that have met him also seemed to agree with that assessment (ie. Hsien). The only people I knew that hated him were well..the ones he beat. I won't name names, but I'm willing to bet most of the older members of the community know who I'm talking about.

Kevin Caldwell is a fucking dick. Why just the other day he came over to my house, punched me in the face, tied me up, then proceeded to rape the holy bejezus out of Anthrax. I haven't seen a cat pounded that hard since grade school (bad memories, don't ask). Then he ate all my food, stole all my DVDs, and on his way out the door he set my house on fire. So yeah, Caldwell is a *HUGE* asshole.

So I came home to find this slanty-eyed bastard lying on my futon. At first, I thought it was just the next-door neighbor, who when he isn't overworking himself, drinking himself into liver failure, avoiding his wife to jack off to under thirty models from the corner video store, or molesting my students, has a tendency to forget which apartment is his and squeeze himself through my bathroom window.

Instead, to my surprise, it was in fact someone much worse. Apparently, the AMV asian sensation, Kevin Chiou had apparently stolen my identity, gone on an insane rampage of raping housecats across several continents, and at one point even had the audacity to claim he was Kevin Caldwell himself. Then the bastard came back to the original scene of the crime and fell asleep after attempting to get a high off of the floor wax I had hanging on the kitchen shelf.

Had this been Texas, I would have shot him. But since I LIVE IN JAPAN (be you didn't know that already), I simply tossed him into a Ladies car and told the nice Japanese women he had been caught molesting and eight year old. I lied, but that was still probably true.
