Tales of the Abyss Idea: Luke's Consequences

I don't have any good editing software and my only delve into AMVs sucked because of it so I'm throwing my ideas out for other people to make here :3 This is Tales of the Abyss to Consequence Free by Great Big Sea. You'd probably have to wait until the series is done to do it, but you can start on the earlier parts now. I've played the game so I know the story progression so I know what to expect at the end. I'm leaving this as just a guideline for someone to use and I hope for a great video.

The overall concept is actually all of the consequences set in motion by Luke, or Luke's very existance... all the bad things, Asch being displaced, causing people to die and everything, but also how Luke works to make it all better and finally gives everything to protect anything else from being destroyed.

Wouldn't it be great, if no one ever got offended

At this point of the song it's important to set a standard of who Luke is to start the series, as someone who doesn't care or understand his effects on other people and how he needs other people to consider this for him and hold him back.

This choruses should highlight the consequences Luke does make, whether good or bad. The first one should focus on his early actions,

like defending Van from Tear, Eating the apple without paying, defeating the Liger queen and Arietta wanting revenge and going to Akzeriuth, causing it's fall.

The last line of the chorus should flash through Luke's consequences with the other characters before he cuts his hair - like Tear being injured to protect him, Jade getting sealed, Anise falling, Natalia teaching him and Guy watching over him as a child.

At this point it's time to focus on encounters with the Church of Lorelei lackeys and how the church runs things through the score. This is also where we showcase Luke's aversion to killing humans and overcoming it by respecting and honoring their death. It should also showcase how the general populace supports their cause.

This should showcase the period where Luke was trapped in Asch's head and had to reflect on everything he had done leading up to him cutting his hair and trying to win everyone back around after losing faith in him.

Wouldn't it be great, if the band just never ended
We could stay out late and we would never hear last call
We wouldn't need to worry about approval or permission,
we could - slip off the edge and never worry about the fall

This part should showcase Luke's happy times with everyone and then everything they have to worry about

i have a slight plot problem with this... Asch is luke, the one you're talking about is a replicant not the real luke x_X
also he's a complete twat i'd make some thing about asch over him, but that's just me

Asch may be the original Luke, but he abandoned the name. He no longer considers himself Luke so the Replica Luke gets the name. You could also try to do it about Asch if you think you could, I mean there isn't all that many scenes WITH Asch It's hard to make dedicated AMVs to characters like that but I suppose you could focus an Asch video on the consequences of him running away from the home that accepted a fake in his place.

also, is it alright if I have footage with subtitles mixed with scenes from the game? Cause that's all I can find for the TV version of Tales-Abyss.

I seriously don't know why it's hard for people to find raws of new shows >_> Tokyotosho is where it is AT. No qualms at all about using game footage, in fact I DLed a nice bit - the ending clip of the game in dual audio. And also, using game footage is really the only way to portray the entire story right now as the anime is not over... howerver I have never been able to fathom how people OBTAIN the game footage... that just kinda floors me.

If I knew how to get game footage I would SO yoink it from my Lunar games cuz Lunar is

...Interesting idea. I've been getting Abyss eps for an AMV idea of mine. Though I havent gotten the eps in a few weeks due to my loss of interest. But I'll check out the song and see how it fits.

Oh... thank you very much. I tried looking for raws and couldn't find any (though I suck at finding things no matter what) so this is very helpful.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with :3 And I hope you can enjoy using Tokyotosho as a resource for other projects as well...

I frankly hate subtitles in AMVs unless they emphasize the AMV (One of my fave AMVs, Kyou Kara Maou to You'll Be In My Heart is a perfect example of a good use of leaving a subtitle in.) There can be some really good AMVs that have subtitled sources, but they need to have really good editing to make subtitles a non-issue... or use a sub from a non-english language as it's easier to ignore - and NEVER use subtitles in an AMV to a non-english song unless they are a song translation...

Sorry, it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine... So many people think "I like this song, I like this show, I'll throw them together and make a great AMV" So does not work that way... and those people tend to do episodes to music too. Sometimes it can be entertaining, but it'd be nice to see more effort... Sorry sorry, I rant too much...

Anyway, on a side note since this thread has caught more eyes than my other one... if you're looking for something different for inspiration, if you can check out Cute is What We Aim For I'd appreciate seeing ANYTHING done to their music, though I do have a few suggestions there as well.
