English dub in contests
I have seen amv use the original audio in amvs along with subtitles but is it allowed to use the dub audio?

Re: English dub in contests
I haven't heard of/seen any contest(s) that have that as a rule
Personally, I think it's rather hard to be able to integrate 2 audio sources and make it sound acceptable (assuming you're using a song and are planning to put in a voice-over type thing from the dub)
...but it isn't my amv

I've heard of that rule before, but never actually seen it. Maybe it was just a rumor that used to go around? Maybe it used to be a rule at some cons but they stopped it? To be sure, just read over the rules of any contest you plan on entering.

Re: English dub in contests
Anime Boston's rules explicitly ban dub audio, and I know a couple other cons do as well. Other cons allow it, or at least don't have any rule against it.
So it really depends on the contest. Read the rules closely, and if you're still not sure, ask the contest coordinator.

I doubt many cons would allow it.

Oh it works pretty good. I used to saw a bunch of them around 2001 & 2002. You´re surprised how good a screaming Sayjan fits to the The Deftone´s song Bored.Kariudo wrote:I haven't heard of/seen any contest(s) that have that as a rule
