Aslfoundation.dll Error in Premiere Elements 7

I don't know exactly when this started, but suddenly Premiere Elements 7 has become very unstable. Pretty much every time I try to resize a clip on the timeline, the program will become nonresponsive for a minute, sucking up all kinds of system resources before finally telling me that the program has failed due to something related to aslfoundation.dll. I can't find any info about this anywhere else, so does anybody know how to fix this?
