Vegas: Audio crackling

I am having trouble with a music track in Vegas. It plays fine in my media players, but when I listen to it in Vegas, it crackles and distorts at random time. Are my Vegas settings screwed up?

That sounds like something that would happen when editing with an mp3 audio file... convert it to wav and it should be fine.

This helped a bit, much of the crackling is gone. There is still some about 1:30 into the clip, but it's not as bad as before.

The audio source is fine, it plays perfectly in media players.

Actually, it doesn't crackle once I render. Guess it's just a glitch in Vegas then. It only occurs at two spots in the song so I can work with it while editing.
