I don't have anything to contribute to this thread, but the fact you mentioned that Aqua song immediately had me remember Fluxmeister's video to that song.

At the last minute, I decided to be a Jpop idol. Whipped up a skirt from some tulle and cut open two pairs of socks to make the leg... things...

My roommates were a mummy, a tavern wench, and a Stepford Wife. We went and crashed a party thrown by FIFE (Feminism is for Everyone).

Our party's tonight (and yesterday was our 5th wedding anniversary! w00t!) so hopefully I'll have some good pics tomorrow. Assuming I can stagger to the computer---we're serving Red Death as a drink again this year.

I don't think it's gothic loli. From what I can tell (using google image search), that would require a ton of lace, frilly headpieces, ornate jewelry, and a lot more work. Tacky pop star was much easier to assemble.
