Ctr+K in Premiere CS3

Post by Typhoon859 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 12:55 am

Is there any way to split just one layer when pressing Ctrl+K instead of the whole thing? When every track gets split, it gets complicated to do certain things. Thanks in advance.

I always just do C to get the razor tool, then click where i want to cut, then V to get back to the select tool. Since they are right beside each other its not too bad.

Hmmm, interesting, thanks. Though, you still have to kinda be fairly accurate with the click to cut where you need. The razor tool isn't very "sticky".

Just put the CTI at the frame you wanna cut and razor there so you get a frame accurate cut.

It's easy to get the CTI where I want and that's why Ctrl+k is useful. While with the razor, it has to be lined up with the CTI AND at a zoomed in level or else it still could be inaccurate. I found something that's helpful. KTool. with KTool installed, you just have to have the razor tool selected and press the windows key+k to cut the track you want instead of the whole thing. So, lining up the razor and using the mouse isn't necessary.
