Contest List

Post by Seijin_Dinger » Tue Jul 01, 2008 6:15 pm

Im doing some small research and I wonder if there is a List of all the conventions that have an AMV Contest somewhere

Im thinking of looking over as many different rules sets to see about better streamlining the Sakura-Con rules for ease of reading and simplicity but still able to coer all my bases

AMV contest rules really fall into three categories, from what I've seen over the years: Submission, Content, and Technical.

Submission rules cover how the editor gets the video to you. FTP instructions, mailing addresses, and deadlines are what I usually see.

Content rules cover what has to be in a video and what can't be (amount of anime content, subs, watermarks, dub audio, etc.)

Technical rules cover the actual videos submitted. Allowed file formats, resolutions, frame rates, and so on.

The contests that I've entered with the best-written or most comprehensive rules have been Anime Boston, AWA, Animethon/Anime Evolution, and Otakon.

I remember there was a sticky in this forum with all the due dates, and links to rules, but it seems to have disappeared [mysteriously in the night...] however, there's still the contest results sticky, and calendar from the members page.
