MKV not compatible with anything...I hate it. =_=

Okay...it seems the only thing people encode this anime into is mkv--no matter where I download the episodes. >_>

Anyways, after four months...I need help.

VirtualDubMod and the original VirtualDub can't read it--neither can Vegas and neither can Premiere--I got so desperate I even used WMM, so...I'm lost. Nothing I download can convert MKV into something readable, either.

How do I convert this without buying River Past...and all the other costly converters? I've heard there are ways, and I'm hoping you all can help me with it. I've read guides, but I still don't quite understand and I've gotten lost easily. I've finally gotten the gall to ask you all for help--so if you can walk me through it, that would be great.

That one. Use DirectShowSource to open the file.

avisynth + directshowsource() + FFDshow

or you know, you could try using the DVDs instead.

ffmpegsource() is better than directshowsource() (but you'll have to google it and download)

Okay, I'm able to open it in VDM. I converted it to AVI with Xvid, but Vegas can't read the video stream--just the audio. o_0;

Thank you. Now, I've chosen most of them and given them each a test drive--and they're ridiculously huge...as in:

Projected Filesize: 1000+ MBs huge. I don't seem to have a lot of options to affect the filesize. Is it something to just bear with? Cause this is going to take multiple episodes.

yes, lossless codec = big files

I would recommend making your clips in vdubmod ( as opposed to encoding entire episodes and clipping in vegas

Or you can follow the "hard way" and, when it comes to using the avs files, you can use VFAPI, as explained [url=http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... ocId201615]here/url].
