masking in vegas

hey everyone im using vegas 8 and im trying to mask a charactors face over a background image. ive succesfully masked around the face but i need to know how to make holes where the image underneath can come through.

try using the cookie cutter effect

uh? if you have masked around the face the "images" should come through in the places that you cut away :/
