Anime Movie Recommendation
Well, I've been watching lots of anime series over the past few years and my To Watch list still goes on forever, but my collection of anime movies is close to nil. I need to compile a new list of anime movies/OVAs to watch. Perhaps you guys can give me some recommendations.
My specifications:
1. I've seen most of Miyazaki's classics, so don't give me any of those. Any that I haven't seen are already on the list.
2. Don't give me any movies associated with an anime, like End of Evangelion or Samurai X. If I saw the anime, I probobly saw the movie. If I didn't watch the anime, I probobly won't want to watch the movie.
3. No Shonen-ai or Shojo-ai. It's just not my thing.
4.I generally don't like movies that are just sad and depressing. This can be redeemed if the story is good.
Ex. I tried to watch Grave of the Fireflies, but got so epicly bored during the first third that I couldn't watch anymore.
Movies/OVAs I have already seen (not including those associated with series):
Akira
R.O.D.
Blood: The Last Vampire
Karas: The Prophecy and The Revelation
Mezzo Forte and Kite
Black Jack
Ghost in the Shell 1 and 2 ( + SSS)
Perfect Blue
The Animatrix

My favourite pick would be Tokyo Godfathers- it's another Satoshi Kon work (Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Paprika) but with a nice warmth and humour to it. The story is edging on the unbelievable but well grounded with interesting and deep characters that keep you going and the whole film is plenty of fun.
