Spam removed from thread. Ugh.

Anyway, the closest you're likely to get to a good answer will be to read this.

Chester A. Arthur

Seriously though there will be no answer to this because the contest of "this music would go well to this story" can date as far back as the invention of story and song.

Uhm, no. Most likely the first anime/music combo was likely the first M@D, and shown by one Japanese Otaku to another Otaku, likely in his (and not her) group of friends. Probably in the early eighties, but maybe late seventies. I'd have to research when decks were available in Japan, even at outrageous prices to give you a more practical year range.

Conventions were how AMVs got popular in the States.

Wikipedia has a page on the history of MADs, but I dont know how accurate it is.

I know how AMVs became popular in the US, both inside and outside of the convention sphere: I was there.

Pretty accurate, although Yamato fandom (of which I am pretty serious member, HAIL DESSLAR), would seem to indicate that Imai may only hold the mantle of producing the first Yamato AMV/M@D, and that most likely the idea of fan generated anime/music combos probably predate even him, if only by one more person. Hey may well be the first though.

Prepare for the story of your life Mr. Black Vision, It's quite the experience. You see George Washington Carver Didn't die in 1943 from what were told. He was actually hiding trying to find cure of his raging spirit that was caused from a experiment from overdose of Peanut Butter Gamma Radiation that reacted from his Unique Body Chemistry, and then when he grew angry or outraged a medamorphis would occure to him. So he had to lead the world that he was dead. His Base was settled in a old malfunctioning Underground Railroad Train that was still under heavy maintenance.

Now we skip on to 8 years. It's 1951 and in Japan there was 1 absolute anime of the time, AstroBoy. This was GWC's Favorite TV show next to Happy Days. So GWC thought to himself at the time "what way could I stick it to the white man and be a legend at the same time". Since Martin Luther King Jr. wasn't around yet he was very limited on asking the Government to use their experimented computer that was decimal coded, The ENIAC. Now all He needed was his source and mp3, but seeing as that Japan was too far and mp3s weren't invented, he had the help of some alien foreign technology from Roswell Incident in New Mexico. This would explain how he was able to make an AMV.

He now with his record player ripper ready. With Astroboy as his anime he could not go wrong, but that was until he had caught the nasty virus that would soon spread to 4chan, The "LuLz Effect". He Just happened to have footage of Pearl Harbor incident. He then Roto'd/Motion Tracked Several Astroboy copies over the Kamikaze Air Planes making it laughable of how a bunch of boys in underwear with jet packed boots was sacraficing themself to take out the harbor.

And then EVERYONE was doing the craze. Not too long til we had Ray Charles with any old cartoon like the flint Stones.

Thus George Washington Carver was the Black Daddy of AMVS.
