What AMV Contests are in Japan
Ok I know it may seem like the dumbest question ever, but I just moved to Japan and I'll be here for a minute and I'm thinking of making some AMV's and possibly entering a contest or two while I'm here. So let me know.

Re: What AMV Contests are in Japan
I'm an AMV editor already living in Japan so I'm <strike>getting a kick out of your replies</strike> pretty sure I can answer with authority that there's nothing of the type.
They don't have conventions in Japan like we think of them in the US, so there's no venue for contests, nevermind the fact that stuff like copyright is, on the <i>surface</i>, taken very seriously, which means that something like a public AMV screening would be verboten (while, of course, X-rated doujins inspired by your favorite anime can be swapped openly).
Strange country, this.

Any contest that does exist would not only probably require that you be able to read Japanese but that your videos not suck. That eliminates 99% of the 'Org to begin with. I can dig a little on Mixi and maybe 2chan but I doubt I'd find much, as Zarxrax and others who know more about the MAD scene than I do would be able to say.Hollow Naruto wrote:......wow can't say that I'm not surprised, but a little disappointing to here
