Buying After Effects
Does it really cost US$999.99 like adobe.com says, or is there something a little more reasonable. Where would I purchase it and is the software worth it. I'm very interested in working more with Masking and AP Elements seems extremely difficult to do any large scale masking with any sort of speed.

I don't know real price, but if thou is talkin' 'bout legal way, then - yes,it's really very expensive.
I've bought my Premiere Pro 1.5 for 400$ , and Photoshop CS for 600$. Though that was about a half a year ago, I dunno if it's that much now.
As for After Effects, I think it's most expensive program from Adobe..

But as I recall, you can still add third party plugins to the edu version, which really makes it a great deal.Zarxrax wrote:You can get the educational version at a much lower price. With after effects, this version is a little stripped down compared to the regular one, misses a few plugins and things, but most of the main features are present.
