youtube not for AMVs

I'm AMV fan from long time ago from the darkages - RM file music video -_-; - i see the days of *.mpg and thin *.mov and then the first days of the DIVX and now MP4 ^_^ you can't stop the tecnologe.

Any way i read (phade*) artikal* abut youtube and he so raight but youtube proplem is 2 not one.

1-the one phade say in his artikal.
2-ther to miny* AMV in youtube in vere law Qu* FLV that make you mad hah, and the don't bot at last the link to the oregnal AMV.
so all i say bot these logo in last sacend or half sacend so the pepole how download that FLV now that you don't like thes idea.

From your spelling, I'm going to guess that English isn't your first language. We have many members here who speak Dutch and/or German; you might find it helpful to run a post like this by them next time, or get them to translate for you.

As it is, I get the general idea of what you're saying, but there are some parts I just can't decipher.

If that's what ya think,then i must agree. I myself don't like the whole Youtube,for certain reasons - It's quality is awful. Most of clips I watched there,was so bad that I barely could see what's goin' on. Of course there was few normal videos,but that makes only little part of whole footage contained on that site. I understand that here's a lot of people who don't have any problem to go and watch videos on that site,but I can't. I just don't want to ruin my expression of AMV or maybe some other videos. Besides,as I remember, JaddziaDax once told - Comment box there is not large enough to say bad or good points of the video.

Another reason - If ya are Editor,and love all Anime and AMV stuff,then why don't do it on site which originally was created for that purpose? I mean - this IS AnimeMusicVideos.org , right? Then,if ya respect yourself as editor,why upload your work there,if here it would be much more appreciated? When I see post in AMC Announcements containing Youtube link, I'm just ignoring it,or saying that it would be much better to upload it here,since this site exist for that. I undestand if now FTP here would be in critical state,or it would be very small,that would cause problems for sure. But,if now there are no restricts (Hentai and Ogre stuff are exception) then why people hesitate? There is no need to hurry. The more time ya practice, the better thy outcome will be.

So the point would be : Why use Youtube,when this is much better for AMV's?

It's not that I like boochsack more, but the most obvious answer would be that it offers instant viewing of that video when sometimes it takes 10 minutes to download one video from a-m-v.org. People don't have patience go on YouTube and doesn't mind the low quality version/appreciate the high quality version. And lastly, they would be in a community where LinkinBallZ is appreciated while we will rate and comment harshly on something that they consider themself a masterpiece.

Personally, I wouldn't even care about the comments I got. I'd only use Yuu'utsube in order to reach as wide of an audience as possible and only <i>in addition to</i> A-M-V.org.

i didnt say that everyone is on the tube for that...

what i said is that if thats all you want then you can get it there... cause you more than likely wont get it here...

i keep my "non anime" videos there for the audience that i cant get here (since its against site rules to upload stuff like harry potter)

and I dont stop other people from uploading my amvs and take the comments as my own.. (and save them to a playlist if i find them) cause i like the audience i dont want to be THAT bitchy to them cause it usually means they like the vids they upload..

Actually it has more to do with the fact that the tube isn't the org than anything else. It's a different site so keep it there, if we wanted that shit we would have gone there to begin with.

What we're seeing now is about once a week either someone no one has ever heard of is posting on this site to bitch about another site entirely or, even more annoying, people are joining the org for the sole reason of asking us to go look at stuff on a non-org site. I have yet to see someone posting to go look at the tube amvs who actually made a profile for the AMVs here. These people aren't even making the slightest contribution to what the sites goal is but instead are, basically, saying the org sucks to much for them to spend time on so we should all go somewhere else. I see little difference between someones ONLY post being to tell me to go to a different website and watch their videos and someones ONLY post being to tell me to go to a different website to buy viagra. If the only contribution to the org someone has is 'go somewhere else' then they're a worthless spammer and deserve all the hostility they get.

Also of note, it's not just the tube. I don't recall seeing anyone go on a rant about something on slashdot or drudgereport for example but do you honestly think that topic would survive long if they did post it in General AMV? As well there's the fact that I and a couple others received a banning message specifically informing us that the org isn't 4chan (well, mine specifically said that and I assume the others got the same message). The issue really is that the org isn't here to promote/discuss other sites or emulate other sites memes. It just happens to be that the tube also has other reasons for the org to dislike it in addition to the fact it just doesn't belong here.
