New Star Trek movie...

Post by RurouniKakita » Fri Dec 13, 2002 11:36 pm

Just got back from watching the newest edition to the Star Trek franchise and i have to say it was ok. While it wasn't the best of the TNG movies it certainly wasn't the worst (but then again I'm a big Trek fan and could be a little biased). The rest of this post willl contain minor SPOILERS so consider yourself warned.

The clone idea was good I'll give them that and the Reman weapon was sniffty but like most movies I've seen lately it seemed the whole thing seemed rushed. The movie starts nicely with a visious attack and swings into a lighter mood quickly. (Data's little number is neat) But the leave out so much that could have been done, like actually give Wes some lines (I know I don't like him either but we needed some explination on why he was there). over all I think it was worth a veiw in the theater and plan do go see it again with my best friend while I'm back down state. One last thing be fore i hit the preview then submit butttons, this will be the last Star Trek TNG movie made. if they make another Star Trek movie it will have to be either DS9 or something completly new.[/img]

So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Well, I just saw it today, it gets my seal of apporval, much better then the last one, the second best TNG movie in my opinion behind First Contact. I was entertained throughout most of the film, even though I'm not a big trek fan. The first 30 min or so aren't especially good UNLESS you are a big fan. But the rest is well executed...BTW

SPOILERS!

....Is it just me... or did the one shot of Picard after the clone had been impaled make it look like he had been impaled on Picard's giant penis :?
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
