So I have gotten a bonus from work
And am thinking of buying a video editor like Adobe Premire. Thing is, I had it a few years ago (because at the time I was an evil thief and downloaded it) and it was infinently more complicated then I think it should have been. WMM doesn't really cut it (especially with the video I would like to do that involves a number of different shows and songs).
I have about 800.00 to spend.
Ideas/Sugestions (Even if it's to "buck up" and get Adobe again) would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Get Magix, Gimp, and Blender then.
Premiere may be a little complicated at first, but it quickly becomes very simple, but besides WMM, it seems to be the editor of choice for the org. It certainly has the most help for it, and as far as I know, AE doesn't have a equivalent. It's easily far more complicated than premiere by the size of some org's ego, but what can be accomplished in it can be quite impressive.
Not to mention if you wanted a job in video production or graphics of some sort, knowning photoshop, premiere and AE is going to get you a lot further than saying you know unknown program A and MSPaint.
Of course, if you looked at one of the software lists in one of the video forums, there's a bunch of recommended editors, Vegas, Magix Movie Edit Pro I think is the good version, I don't know if Final Cut Pro is for windows as well, and a bunch of others. They might be cheaper, but their also a bit more obscure, so when you get stuck, your going to be asking a small crowd for help. At least here anyways.

The link I have for that is http://www.academicsuperstore.com/marke ... tNo=720455 and I think it's the same option you chose. Now, does that include the programs or just the DVDs to show you how to use them?Orwell wrote:Adobe Video Bundle at student price. I used www.academicsuperstore.com

the way to go...
what I think you should do is go to sony's software website
(google sonymedia NO SPACES) and you can have a 1 months trail of vegas...also there is a VERy helpful tutorial on using vegas....
so just download the free vegas trial: its about 60 megabytes.
and if you like it purchase it (about 60-70$)
that should solve the issue unless you DONT like it.
in which case try some other software trials....
or just spring for adobe and learn it.
up to you in the end. hope I was helpful.
