The current skin is addressed towards:

2) The .org isn't too hot on either, but focusing on (a) before (b) would be a good idea. Link
However, it's possible to change the current presentation of this site without having to modify the phpBB templates. One may wish to do this for aesthetics purposes, medical reasons, etc.

To do so, one will need either: The Stylish Extension focuses on changing the display and presentation of the site through CSS manipulation and processing. The GreaseMonkey focuses on client-side JavaScripting to change the CSS display and presentation of the website.

Both of these have their own strengths and weaknesses. CSS is easy to use, but provides limited interactivity (for now). JavaScript requires a knowledge of programming & CSS; however, one can add more dynamic features to the display.

Test & Design case:
Once you have installed either of those extensions, load up this page:

Light text on black background

Light text on black background was much nicer for my poor cataracted eyes. Now I have a new lens implanted I like black on white again, so this style probably won't be updated anymore.
Thanks to KuRmA for the stars and the improvement! I have incorporated it in the style.
Now uses system colors for input boxes & buttons, too.
This is a very simple CSS and JavaScript design. You can choose to either load it as a CSS style via Stylish or JavaScript via GreaseMonkey. Once you have loaded up the script, if the page has not refreshed, refresh it manually. You may choose to play around with or edit other settings within the extension if you wish to do so.

Open up an AMV Org tab and witness the change to the design.

However, this test case has its limits. Personally, I want something softer and less "black". We can change this going into our CSS or JavaScript and finding the declaration "background-color: black" and change this to another color.

Note:
You should be able to access your CSS through the Stylish Add-On. If you are unable to edit the JavaScript through GreaseMonkey, you can find the JS file by going into your Documents & Settings folder, account folder, Application Data, Mozilla, Firefox, profiles, your profile, gm_scripts, and open lighttextonblackbackgrou.user.js in NotePad.

List of HTML Colors:

Background Editing:

Copy the palette color and replace "black" with the number. Insert a # sign in front the number. Save your file and reload the AMV Org tab. If all goes well, you should be greeted with a new background color.

You can change other designs by finding their element and modifying their property or adding your own CSS/JavaScript declarations. If you wish to, you add a background image (linked to a picture you have on your computer or on another site).

You can use this Test style or others found at the userstyles.org, etc. as a bases of you design or you can create your own from scratch.

Designs, suggestions, requests, etc. are welcomed in this thread.
