The only problem is that neither of us are very technologically savvie. Any pointers that you could give us (in laymen's terms!) would be greatly appreciated!

Salutations!
I'm a newbie on the forums here and, although I haven't made any AMVs yet, my fiance and I have a lot of great ideas that we want to try out.

I think its time for...
Moonie's AMV Starter Tips Version 1.5!
1: Don't have subs in your videos (They can be cropped)
2: Don't have the DIVX logo encoded in your videos.
3: Make sure you have plenty of footage!
If you don't this will happen...

Be warned!!!!
4: Don't let scenes run on too long just to fill in a part of the video
5: Don't have lip flap unless you are trying to lip synch
6: Don't Edit with Divx or Xvid footage
7: While mp3s can work its best to use wav in video editing
8: Don't have stray frames
9: Drink lots of sake
10: Have fun!
11: Make the top 10 list
12: ???
13: Profit?
