i was wondering if there was anyway i could view videos/search results in order of their hits as opposed to however(randomly?) it is done

There's a sort by star count option. Hit count is pretty meaningless.

I believe that's a donator-only option.

In which case you could use that option on the 1st and 15th of each month.
