How old is your rig?

What kind of specs are you running on your editting machine/computer in general? With Conroe coming out I'm thinking of an upgrade myself, but it's always interesting to see what kind of hardware the AMV community is sporting these days.

it's just over a year old, and does pretty well.

Asus A8N sli-delux (not that I use the sli, but that's not important)
Athlon 64 X2 3800 (got it 6 months before the price was cut in half)
2 36GB WD raptors in raid0...and a gerneric 250GB Sata(1.5) drive
1GB pc3200 corsair value select (dual-channel) ram
Evga GeForce6600 (256MB ddr, pci-e)

haven't really been able to properly test this rig...but everything up to editing/exporting goes blazing fast

The laptop was like 87 bucks with one of those punch the monkey and get a free laptop deals. im gonna get a better one and give this one to my little brothers.

2.7ghz AMD Athalon processor
2 hard drives- 300GB Hatachi and a 80GB Seagate
128mb graphics- ATI 9250 Radeon
1512mb RAM- 1gb Kingston and 512 PNY
and the all improtant (howbeit, ancient) DVD re0writable by Phillips.

Hodge-podge machine, but whatever works say I.

Not that this really matters, but you're adding your RAM wrong. Its 1024 + 512 =1536


But I'm running a 5 year old Compaq 2.54 ghz P4
504 megs of RAM (Some of the RAM on the stick is no longer functioning...or it never did, its been like that for so long I don't remember anymore lol)
Some genaric Intel 128 meg Graphics card
108 gig hdd and a 38 gig hdd
CD burner and DVD-rom.
