Exporting problem with VDub Mod

Post by Krisqo » Mon Jun 05, 2006 6:19 pm

I was trying to compress one of my MEP videos down in size using AVI synth and Virtual Dub Mod. I set up XVid like the guides say, but I get this error:

Statsfile not found!

Then it says

Cannot start video compression:

The operation is not supported
(error code -1)

I have no idea what happened or what this means.

It sounds like you're trying to do a two-pass encode, but something has happened to the video.pass file that should have the stats from the first pass. You either have to actually do the first pass, or make sure that you have permission to write to wherever it's trying to save 'video.pass' to. You can specify the location by selecting Xvid as the video codec, selecting encoding type twopass - 1st pass, and then hitting the little "more" button to the right of the field.

Don't delete this file -- or at least not between the first and second pass of encoding something.
