Need help with import shops.

Post by x_rex30 » Mon May 08, 2006 8:18 am

I need to know of any reliable ones that people use here and how to get Japanese Imports from the Japanese version of Amazon. I hear people using it but I don't know how to set up my account to it and get items from overseas. I've tried logging into my amazon account in the Japanese Amazon but it doesn't recognize my account. Here is the Japanese page.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/browse.html/ ... ode=489986

Can someone help me with this? I'm mainly looking for a good place to purchase import anime DVDs. Thanks.

I've ordered from CD Japan at least twice. There's also Yesasia, animejungle, and Japan Internet Goods Shop. JIGS does not take paypal or credit cards, though, so it can be a pain to use them. They do take Western Union money transfers, though, in addition to Internation Postal Money Orders. Their supported methods of payment are mentioned on the "How to order" and "FAQ" pages.

The regular edition is this one (Catalog Number KIBA-1009). The DTS edition is this one (Catalog Number KIBA-1209).

The catalog numbers are specific to the disk and are defined by the manufacturer, not the retailer. Most retailers will list it, so searching on those catalog numbers will likely find them no matter which site you're looking on.

DTS has something to do with audio right? I guess that one would be the progressive version. I don't know..

The two editions have the same video, just different audio options. The regular edition has a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track and a Dolby Digital Stereo audio track. The DTS edition has a DTS 5.1 audio track and a Dolby Digital Stereo audio track.

KIBA-1009 has this in the description "Remastered from a new digital telecine print." And seeing as how KIBA-1209 came out later, I'm pretty sure it would have the remastered print as well.
