another AE effect help

Post by Duthek » Sun May 07, 2006 4:33 am

if any of you have seen the opening to Fate Stay Night, there is a part where its shows all of these cards spinning on mutliple axis' as they "fall" down the screen

i've been messing around with AE and i found the zoom 3d tumble

this does everything i want it too, but the viewpoint should be perpindicular to what is now the zoom axis and there should be no zoom

anyone have an idea how i could do this, or tell me of a different premo i'm missing

Are you refering to the cards in the first OP of the show, or the more 3d looking ones from the first episode (prior to the opening)?

All you need for either is to make the cards 3d layers and rotate them along the proper axis. It's really easy to pull off, but no so much easy to explain since I don't know how familiar you are with the program.

well that should be a start,

i figured it had something to do with the non zoom sub effects, but didn't know which one to start with

and its definately the 3d looking ones

i just remember that part really well so i thought it was from one of the newer eps

thanks for the direction

i may be back ;)

First of all i dunno what you are talking about with zoom sub effects, but you arent looking for an effect. You just want to use the basic motion controls that are inherant to every layer in AE. You need to check the "3d layer" box on the layer first though.

the 3d spinning zoom effect is made up of 3 sub effects(be they just camera angles or layer controls), thats what i mean

and doughboy understood what i was going for

i'm partway there and i think i have the rest of it figured out

thanks for the help
