Why don't people ...?

Post by guy07 » Wed May 03, 2006 3:28 pm

Why don't you people leave your names on QC's? I have people asking questions and stuff but not leaving their names, I can't get back to you if I don't know who you are :S so leave your names when you write a QC.

Also, I'm gona op every every vid I download from now on (but for the love of god, don't ask me for ops.) and I think it'd be cool if more people would do that, I mean, most ops I give end up being first timmers in op exchange. And if somebody leave you a op, be nice and check out one of theirs. I'm not telling you to do this, it's just a suggestion cuz I'v noticed a lot of editors that could use feedback ....lots and lots of feed back, lol. Jubbers seems to be the only other person who does that (YOU ROCK JUBJUB!). Feel free to post arguements or agrements(sp?).

I'd rather they leave some comments on QC than names. Instead of being an asshole and just giving out 1s or 2s with no feedback at all. But if they don't leave their names they can say whatever they want and hide basically. Like little chickens.

He does raise a good point, though. If people ask a question on the QC, and don't leave their name, how can the question be answered?

Maybe they hope that you'll edit the comments on the videos or something.

I braught this up before, aparently being annon makes people more honest or something like that... or atleast thats what I was told..

I like having the names along with the qc, and I appreciate the people who do sign their names...

ALTHOUGH: I cant say I leave my name on every qc I send, but I do sign on my "longer" qcs... (like say if its just the link to the sub removal url, do they really need to know who I am to get anything out of it? plus coppy + paste is alot easier than typing anything, and Im lazy)

as for ops, you would be suprised how many people actually DO leave ops...

I know I've left my share of opinions... and in the past I used to check out the amvs of anyone who left me ops, and even gave back...

granted I have so many videos now that if I keep doing that for my old vids its a little uneven "opinion exchange" imo cause if I am checking out their newest and they are checking out one of my older ones its not quite the same...

when I first started I was just happy/shocked that someone would leave some feedback, I was thinking: OMG someone is paying attention to ME?? something about it didnt seem real... cause I guess I just figured I'd always be one of those people who make tons of AMVs and no one would watch them.

though to an "artist" feedback is like crack, its not at all healthy but you cant get enough of it O.o
~~~~~~~~~~~~
as for the people who ask questions, I am guessing that most of them dont read the forums, I've gotten a few times "i cant see the video" but theres nothing i can do to help them cause they dont leave contact information... and as for changing the profile... ive gotten those on a video AFTER changing the profile.. O.O
I've gotten the most opinions from people who I watch their vids (just out of random, could be profiles, forum, or searching) and leave an opinion (I leave one for all I watch) then they give me some opinions, sometimes though. Happened again today actually.
x2. Please leave your name in your QC's if you're asking a question--it drives me nuts if you complain that the video won't play or ask me how I did something, if I have no idea who you are. If you're not asking a question though, I don't mind if you choose to be anonymous. :wink: I think most of those people aren't editors, and so haven't gotten QC's themeselves, so they don't realize that it is anonymous...
I used to do that back in the day when there weren't as many people on this site (and when my videos sucked more :P) because I got like no ops, but there are too many editors now, especially new ones, to make sure they all get the feedback they deserve. If they want some, they're gonna have to ask for it. Sometimes people do ask for ops on their videos when they leave me one, though, and I'm happy to check out their vids.
It's kinda crazy, but on my last two videos almost all the QC's have been signed ... and I've gotten alot of them ... so maybe trends are changing ... :wink:
I've gotten quite a few signed ones lately, but there's nothing to validate that the person is really who he/she says anyways, so I take the signatures with a grain of salt. As for signing myself, I tend to be brutally honest and my average stars given is far below the site average (due to a lot of randomly downloaded videos once upon a time) and I know that some people can't take critisizm, so I don't and never will sign the quick comments I leave (which are very few by the way).
Cause they are dumb. I leave my name on 99% of all my quick comments unless I simlply forget to. Not saying you have to leave one, but if you're going to ask a question you might as well put your name ya know.
Some dude asked me something without putting his name up like 3 weeks ago. I can never get over that. I just answered the question in my journal hoping he/she may read it.
