Question about an old school Dirty Pair video.

Post by hrglen » Tue May 02, 2006 2:30 pm

Sorry to interrupt this forum. Not knowing exactly where to find this answer for this question, I posted it here.

When in college in the early 90’s, I was introduced to anime. One of the tapes my friend showed to us had an video of Tommy Shaw’s song “Girls with Guns” made into a Dirty Pair: Lovely Angels music video. I have been forever trying to find a copy of that video or someone else that can even confirm its existence. It was extremely professionally done and would have taken a lot of effort to create during that time.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, it does exsist, although it's quality is quite poor

I have tried the super search and turned up just one entry for Tommy Shaw. NOt the one I was looking for.

Vlad - Do you know if it is posted anywhere or accessable for download?

I can confirm its existence; it's a quite good old-school AMV. I recall seeing it as filler on an old fansub VHS tape. I have no idea which one, or else I'd start tearing through my basement boxes.

The creator of these videos was only known as "You Know Who" and if I remember the story correctly he (she?) was using their workplace's professional gear, thus the anonymity factor. This person also did a few Space Battleship Yamato AMVs about the same timeframe.

I actually have this AMV, although the quality is bad. Yes, it is a You Know Who video, I think it's from the early 90s at some point. I've been trying for quite some time to put it up through a proxy account, but to no avail. PM me about how you want me to get it to you!
Yeah, the AMV thesis....that was me.

Use a uploading site like Rapidshare.de or Megaupload and post the link here, I'd like it as well.

He/she also made one with ELO's "Twilight".
Using "Time Etranger", I believe.

Okay, after fighting with the school's firewall, I've managed to upload both the Dirty Pair video and the Time Strangers one onto Megaupload. I know no one requested the Time Stranger's one, but I have it too and I think it's a pretty good one. Here's the links:

Dirty Pair

Time Strangers

If you are an admin reading this, I would like to AGAIN request that I can put these up on a proxy account. See, people do want to watch them!

I hope you enjoy these old-school AMVs!
Yeah, the AMV thesis....that was me.
