The Anime North 10th Anniversary AMV Poll

Post by Initial B » Sun Apr 09, 2006 10:42 pm

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Anime Music Video Competition, the AMVC staff have assembled a list of the top AMVs we have judged over the past 10 years. Here is a chance for creators and fans to vote for their favourite AMVs, which will be counted down top-20 style at Anime North with an award for the top video.

Each entry title links to the videos online, hosted on this site so you can review the video if you aren't familiar with it. Those with videos in the poll should make sure their video puts its best foot forward. :)

This is your chance to vote which videos you feel are the best of the best. The link to the poll can be found here. Don't delay, because the poll closes at 11:59 pm on Friday, April 28th.

P.S. Feel free to pass this around by word of mouth - we want to see if we could get over 10,000 votes (or crash the server  ).

Very cool idea! It was fun to go back and look at the past entries, especially the ones I was less familliar with. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top, because all of the videos on that list (mine included) represent a very broad range of AMVs. But, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It allows for cross-genre voting, instead of having to vote within a genre, which is kind of a nice change.

One of the criteria (besides popularity) for coming up with the list was to provide a broad selection of genres to choose from. Additionally, we wanted a fair cross-section from each of the years we have on file. Finally, we tried to pick only one AMV out of many that focused on a specific series (the biggest debate was whether to include "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand" or "Roads" for the Evangelion entry).

I noticed DokiDoki's on there like 4 times,

And rightfully so. His videos were definately inspirational to me.

It couldn't be helped - DokiDoki videos were just too popular not to be on the list. It says something about their quality.

And just to remind people, there is only a week left to vote before the poll closes. You'd better have your say now.
