Is "IGPX" any good?
I saw it at Best Buy when I went there a few minutes ago. It looked interesting, but I didn't buy it, because I want to know more about it first. What's it like? Is it worth it? Can I see a preview or a trailer anywhere? Also, I heard that there's only 5 episodes, and they're each 5 minutes long.

You don't have Cartoon Network, do you?
IGPX (Immortal Grand Prix) is a lot longer than that. When Cartoon Network's programming block, Toonami, first showed IGPX, they only showed 5, 5 minute segments, equaling one single episode. Last year when Toonami debuted the first season, there were more than 5 episodes and each was half an hour long (or 20 - 25 minutes if you take out the commercials). If I'm not mistaken, the first season of IGPX isn't available on DVD in the U.S..
IGPX is an anime made in Japan, but commissioned by Cartoon Network, an American company.
And, yes, it's worth the watch.

I have Cartoon Network, but I don't watch TV that much (mainly because there's usually nothing good on), but I wasn't aware of that. I was judging what I heard from this site:

Well you completely missed out on season 1 of IGPX (among other good anime on Cartoon Network).
Try this link:

This is what Cartoon Network aired in 2005.
The one you gave may just have very well been a pilot or beta version of the series.
Suggestion, watch Toonami and Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, because they have a lot of good anime.
Toonami: IGPX, Zatch Bell, Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, and Bobobo Bo Bo-bobo
Adult Swim: Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, s-CRY-ed, Lupin III, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Big O, Gigantor, and a few others. (schedule changes, shows rotate)

That is the first IGPX series which is kinda like a beta for the second series that megaman917 linked to. The DVDs you saw were for the second IGPX series. The two series are only loosely related in that they share the same name and have characters with the same names. I don't remember if the character designs are the same, but the mecha designs are totally different.RamonesFan2020204 wrote:I have Cartoon Network, but I don't watch TV that much (mainly because there's usually nothing good on), but I wasn't aware of that. It is a pretty decent show, although I think I missed the last 2 episodes so I have no idea how it ends.AnimeNewsNetwork wrote:posted on 2005-09-28 11:36:45
Bandai Visual Beat has a 3:30, 500kb Windows Media trailer for IGPX. IGPX premieres on Cartoon Network on November 5th.

In all honesty, I found the series rather entertaining, and there were some sweet eye-candy moments when the mechs are fighting; that last episode definetely delivered it. And not to mention, it's one of Bang Zoom's better dubs of which I immensely enjoyed.
My only gripe is that it's ridiculiously predictable, and I can almost predict what's going to happen in the next season.
