Having Trouble with DVDs for Anime and VCR question

Post by Mysticalfan » Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:32 am

I know that when you hook up a DVD player to a VCR and play the DVD, it looks messed up. I know that it scrambles it. But does it do it with all dvds?

I have a dvd that someone made from a VHS (of an old show)I got off ebay. It's not a pirated copy. It's just a homemade dvd. I wanted to make a copy of it to VHS. So I hooked up the DVD and VCR. Then it started looking bad, even though it's not a copyrighted DVD.

I saved a bunch of AMVs that I liked and want to make a VHS of them. I was planning on making a DVD or VCD and then transferring to a VCR. But am I going to get the video scrambled?

I thought that only happened with copyrighted videos. What if I make a VCD or SVCD instead of a DVD? Will I still get the same problem?

I'll appreciate any suggestions.

The problem here is : Did u plug all the wire RITE ? And your VCR support recording in high quality ? Beside that dont forget software TMPGEnc that help u to convert movies file to MPEG1 files then use that MPG1 files to make your VHS tapes.

i believe that is macrovision protection. in theory, i guess, not /all/ dvds should have it and you should be able to play a dvd like you are... BUT it could be the dvd player you have that is causing the problem. if you can, try it with a different DVD player.
