FLCL (Overdone, but realized the perfect new song)

I probably wouldn't do this simply because FLCL is only 6 episodes and AMV'd into the ground already, but Weezer's "Perfect Situation" when thinking about it listening to the radio is like a perfect fit for FLCL if it wasn't so over-used already

Not only in what it talks about in the song, but also the type of music Weezer plays is rather similar to The Pillows.

I would say that FLCL has been overdone badly ... not overdone well ....

Hehe yeah. Well like I said -- I *KNOW* FLCL is overdone, but just from a lyrical standpoint, the song fits FLCL very well. It's another one of my "gee I wouldn't do it myself, but maybe some FLCL nut will appreciate the suggestion" =)

FLCL is overdone because:

1: It's popular. Many people have seen it, many(comparably) will make an AMV for it.

2: It's got great animation.

3: you can make all the gimmick you want with it. Seriously, there is no better anime for lipsync out there.

Just for the record, there are some great AMV's for FLCL out there.

I've got the series and an idea for a video. Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood.
Listen to the lyrics - it fits quite good. The only problem is the chorus. The only reason why i havn't started is because i'm out of hdd space (because of another non-anime music video project, incidentally)

It's creepy but I had the same idea when a friend (almost forcibly) made me listen to that song o_o;

Haven't heard the other song before ._. I haven't been making AMVs seriously (hence none of mine are up here), but I think I'd like to start with this one (Perfect situation to FLCL) of course, getting the footage always takes a while (go netflix go!)

Poll-ish type question:

Lip synch or no? [for the amv]

(I'm leaning towards no, because of the voice, but I'd like to hear about how people might react)

I'm usually not a big fan of lipsync but it has worked great with FLCL before, because of the style of animation the OVA was done in.

in my opinion, just because something's overdone to FLCL's extent doesn't mean you should not go with your idea.... dbz and linkin park are extremly overdone but that hasn't stopped any1 XD (or the newbs lol)

haha, you're totally right. So I'm gonna do this one (sorta decided a while ago) as a serious attempt to do a (noncrappish) AMV. woot.

.......... maaaaaaan netflix is slow >_> *sorta needs the dvds from there for footage*

*still weirded out that someone else thought of the exact same idea. but in a good way*
