AVI codec? :O

My computer keeps on getting to a problem whenever I run into an AVI video file. It keeps on telling me it doesn't know how to play this file or something quite like that. I'm not sure how to fix this so I can watch these AMVs, for a lot of them are AVI's. Might anyone be willing to help please?

I'm thinking that you're missing some codecs.
typical codecs used are divx, xvid and huffyuv
if you have those you can watch nearly all of the amvs here
(some people use other codecs, but these are the most common)

Download, install and it can tell you what codecs are needed for the video you have.
