Urge Overkill's "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon"

Post by Madzack » Tue Nov 12, 2002 9:27 am

How come there's no AMV based around Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon, a cover of Neil Diamond's song by Urge Overkill featured in Pulp Fiction?

I recommend it for any anime that tells a tale of growth and maturity of an anime female.

Or Ayashino Ceres maybe a good bet.

We'll make one about me! Sarah thinks... Skuld, from OMG, develops, but only in the manga... Hmm... Bulma, from DBZ. That would be a DBZ video that I'd actually watch.

You could possibly do an AMV with this song using various female and cross-dressing characters from a range of anime. As well as the already mentioned ones, you could include those that don't actually physically grow but as characters grow as their respective series go on.
One such character would be Faye Valentine for Cowboy Bebop. Having characters like this would allow you to have serious points and some comedy moments with the cross-dressers.

Wow, the crossdressing motif appears popular for this song. Oh well, might as well go for it. Besides, it would be funny.

On the note of cross-dressers and Ranma, how about 'Dude looks like a lady', by Aerosmith? :D

I'm pretty sure there's already a "Dude Looks Like A Lady" vid done to Ranma. I think it would be funnier to see one done using footage of Mari (B-ko's FotNS parody sidekick) from Project A-ko.

If you really want to be bad, there are scenes from Ping-Pong Club that would work well for a cross-dressing vid (I was running the vid room at a con where it was showed *shudder* Kowai...).

The Gundam idea is funny- but it might be even easier than editing a dress onto Unit 1... just do some creative morphing/fading with the Nobel Gundam...
