Classic AMVs Weekly #1
Well, here we go, the first Classic AMVs Weekly thread on here.
Basically, this is something I will do every week, and each week, I will feature an AMV that is older, or forgotten about, or maybe just plain doesn't get enough love. I feel that a lot of the newer generation of AMV editors should be able to see these great AMVs, and this weekly feature might give them exposure to some awesome AMVs that they might never see otherwise.
For the first week, the AMV I have to feature is pretty obvious. For me, anyway.
Maboroshi Studios - Information High
Anime: Macross Plus
Music: "Information High" sung by Gabriela Robin
This is the first AMV I ever saw, back in 1999. I still watch it sometimes, and always think to myself just how impressive this video is. Even by today's standards, this video follows all the rules for great editing, and the song is awesome as well.
So, I went looking in the Org's database for this gem, and I was shocked and apalled to find that there is not even an entry for this video. So, I have uploaded it to YouSendIt, which means that a limited number of downloads is available - So if you have not seen it, and you want it, you have to act fast.
Here's the link!
In any case, I hope you all enjoy this little piece of old-school AMV lovin'!

This video gave me Hell when I first tried to put it on Video CD back in 2002. Likewise, it was one of the first AMVs I ever saw as well. I don't know how long it took to download it, though, and I even forget what site it was hosted on. I still love the song to this day (at that point, I hadn't seen Macross Plus yet; heck, I still haven't gotten around to watching Macross Plus all the way through yet).

Yes, very nice vid. Wasn't this vid made by vcr2vcr? I had always thought that which is what made it even better in my mind that it was that well done.

I am not sure about this. I kind of think it might have been, but the effects at the beginning suggest that a computer was involved at some point.

I don't even know if Joe ever did two VCRs for editing, but I could be wrong.
