Premiere Pro: Push a partial clip onto another.

Post by Ayanefan » Mon Dec 05, 2005 9:03 am

I've been banging my head on the desk trying to get this to work.

I have 2 clips (Clip A and B), clip A is the background and clip Bwill be pushed in from the left on top of clip A.
I'm trying to put a mask over clip B so the left side of the clip will be deleted about 1/2 way and a color jagged edge is to be applied to the left of the remaining image (looks like 1/2 the image is there and a colored jagged edge).
Now, I want to have clip B push itself over clip A from the right(like a jagged picture pushing itself over another clip) and stop 1/2 way to show both clips with a jagged border in between.

The problem I'm having is the Mask that I applied to clip B is also masking out clip A when I bring the sequence in.

What am I doing wrong? Is there another way I can do this?

Sorry, meant to say a Matte, not a mask. Frustration was rising high.
I'll see about the crop feature, but I was wondering how to apply the jagged color edge moving from right to left.

Don't bother with Crop. The Garbage Matte (under Keying) does everything it can do and better.

Scintilla! IT WORKED! As easy as that! I was avoiding the Garbage Matte because I thought the inputting of the values was too tedeous, now that I looked at it more closely, it's the easiest thing to use!

Thanks again.
