Okay, this is a really dumb question....

Post by tsuki_kat » Tue Nov 08, 2005 7:18 pm

....but I haven't seen it anywhere else, so I might as well ask.

How come you can only download certain videos? The FAQs said something about it's the user's decision to make it not downloadable, but why would they even put it up on here?

Thanks for looking at my incredibly dumb question. ^^;;

the website is just a catalog of amvs and wasn't originaly intended to host videos... and you can't force people to upload their videos :P

In order to further its goal of cataloguing every AMV ever, the Org requires that an editor enter all his/her videos into the database in order to be eligible for the Viewers' Choice Awards. That's my reason, anyway.

Why certain videos are not downloadable

Its not always the video creator's 'conscious' decision...sometimes after all info is entered, something goes wrong (the video is too long) and it cant be uploaded. So its still on the site, just not the way it should be.

*sigh* something ive experienced too often...

Does this mean I need to enter the info of my one and only in-bad-need-of-a-re-edit AMV? :?

Technically, I finished it (encoded for distro) but there are a few changes I want to do to the beginning so it's really a work-in-progress. And I'm waiting for parts for my new computer to re-edit it so putting the info up would be like a tease, IMO.
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image
