I want to get started [but how?]

Okay, here's probably the stupidest question in the world but... I want to get started in the whole AMV making business but I have very little knowledge of ripping and converting and compiling (i.e. almost none, but I catch on very fast). So I am the biggest damn noob in the land. My friend and I have millions of good ideas but neither of us know how to get started. So what I'm trying to say is...HELP!!!! please

I would also like to add that yes I have looked over some of the how-to's but I am still confused as to what I need first.

well then you've already started without knowing about it. the idea is usually the first step to creating an AMV. this might help you understand the next steps.

First and formost you need a reason to make it.
Only the AMV's with a purpose are good otherwise it's a case of "Why did i download this sh!t"; and ytou dont want that.

Get a reason.
Get a plot.
Get a decent piece of software.

The best advice ever. THINK FOR YOURSELF. Strugle, read, use google and the damn forum search when you have a question instead of instantly making a thread. Try to figure things out yourself, look at the damn guides and read them till you do understand what they say? dictionary.com and wikipedia.com are good places to save you time and flames from making a thread when the questions allready bein answered, probably a hundred times. if you havent suffered for your hobby then you havent achieved anything and If you think amv's are all about fun and creativity without any stressfull hard work, your dead wrong.

Get a reason.

You forgot the most important one, Get advive from people who've bein doing this for at least a year. Everyone els is a vanila "my amv's are great. editing with divx is fine" n00b.
