:(
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I would like to think that I'm really good at following directions, especially those really easy step-by-step ones that I got from links from previous posts.
But I went back and checked anyway.

I am having a problem connecting to the FTP server. I downloaded FileZilla earlier and I enter the address, username and password that I was given from the upload permission pg.
Then it tells me an error has occured. Could not connect to the FTP server with the user name and password specified.

Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.2.10 Server (Kero) [69.26.178.19]
Command: USER *********
Response: 331 Password required for ********
Command: PASS **********
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Unable to connect!

I tried every combination that I could think of for this thing, drove myself nuts and wasted 2 days on it.
So I try another one.
This time I downloaded Cute FTP.

This angel in paradise did not doom error messages on me, noooo, it says nothing at all. When it requests user name and password, I type it in, click connect and it pops back up asking again, and again, and again.

So instead of wasting another two days and ultimatly putting my foot through the monitor, can someone please help me?

Oh and I saw a comment on another post saying it might be from the Firewall? So I turned everything off, internet, etc and tried again. Same results.
Its almost as if it is not registering that I put in a password at all.

Help??? Please???

sounds like your firewall is set too high.
you can be on the internet, but whatever firewall you use should be set to med or low...off is the safest bet.

Norton products have been known to cause problems with uploading.
I am curious about what firewall you are using.

It might also be worth your time to go, in Firezilla, to edit/options. then select firewall and enable passive mode.

If this doesn't work then make sure you can answer yes to all of these questions (even if they do seem dumb)

did you enter kero.animemusicvideos.org into the address field?

did you enter your username into the username field? (this is case sensitive, make sure there is no punctuation in this)

did you enter your password into the passwrod field? (also case-sensitive, no punctuation)

hope that solves your problem

almost forgot...
make sure to check your amv file before uploading it.
There have been many times where a failed upload attempt has killed the file (by this I mean a file that should be 50MB, for example, is reduced to about 200KB)
in this case you have to re-export your file from your editing program and/or re-encode it.

Unortunately, I'm still having the same problem. Is it possible there is something wrong with the user name and password?

I triple checked that everything was turned off and I even ran a search on my comp incase there were any other firewalls that I didn't know about.

What else should I do or just call it quits?

I was reading in some of the other forums and it was mentioned that the uid/pwd combo can expire after 24 hours????

Could this be my problem since it's been several days since I got that combo??

If it is possible that it is the problem, how do I get a new one? Delete the old video request and start over again?

hmm...I don't know about the password/username expiration thing, but if you go back to the page where you got the username/password it should give you a new one

...you aren't using Internet Explorer are you?

No, I'm not though I did try it that way as well. I'll try getting a new combo and see if that works.
