bitrates

is there a program that allows me to lower the bitrates of my own amvs?

Lowering the bitrate means recompressing it entirely, which you shouldn't do.

If you have a lossless master for your video (which you should always keep) you should use that to re-encode with a lower bitrate.

yup i do have one... so how can i compress it at a lower bitrate wit vdubmod or something.

Follow the guides, and where it says to input a desired file size at 70% of your first pass, choose a lower number. If you know precisely what bitrate you want, use the bit rate calculator by clicking the button next to it.

Just lowering the bitrate will only get you so far without the quality suffering unacceptably. If you want to go much lower than 70% it's probably best to resize the video to a lower resolution instead of just lowering the bitrate. Extra smoothing helps too.

thank a lot... btw i'm not worried about quality because i plan on using the 70% for internet distribution. i want a lower bit rate so that i can put it on my PSP.
